Answer: We accept the following cards: Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Question: How can we get help if someone is hurt?
Answer: In the reception we have a first aid kit for smaller injuries. The nearest emergency ward is in Øystese 2,5 km away, with telephone number 56 55 38 50. To reach the emergency ward of the municipality, call +47 56 55 19 10. In emergencies, call the medical emergency number 113.
Question: How is Hardanger resort accessible for wheelchair users?
Svar: Nesvika 3 (the Japanese house by the fjord) is accessible for motor wheelchair inside. To go from the house down to the beach promenade, go out from the main exit and around the house.
Neshagen 2 is accessible for non-motorized wheelchairs. A ramp leads to the entrance, and there is also an outdoor connection to the terrace.
The sanitary building has a separate handicap toilet and shower. The entrance level is about 4 cm above ground.

Question: What do I do if I am unhappy about something?
Answer: Contact us in the reception immediately, and we will do our best to improve the situation or find a solution.
Question: Is it allowed to bring a dog?
Answer: We have a fee for dogs of NOK 100 for the whole stay. Please make sure the dog doesn't jump into furniture or beds. Please bring a blanket the dog can use. The dog should always be tied. Remember dog bags.
Question: Is it allowed to smoke inside the houses?
Answer: No, the Norwegian non-smoking law applies to all our houses.
Question: When do I check out?
Answer: Checkout should be done before noon. If we are not at the reception, you can place the key in the mailbox outside the reception door.
Question: Should I bring my own bedlinen?
Answer: You can choose whether to bring your own bedlinen or rent it from us. Each set costs NOK 90,- and includes a big towel.
Question: Do I need to clean the cottage before checkout?
Answer: You can choose whether you want to clean it yourself or leave that to us. In Neshagen the cleaning service costs NOK 400,-. In Nesvika it costs NOK 500,-. If the cottage is not cleaned and you do not request the cleaning service, you will receive an invoice.
Question: Do you have a baby bed and high chair for babies?
Answer: Yes, the rent for each of these separately is NOK 100,-, or NOK 150,- for both together.
Question: Can I buy cancellation insurance?
Answer: Yes. We recommend that you take out cancellation insurance if you are booking a stay of one week or more.
Question: Is there transportation in case some of us drink too much?
Answer: Norheimsund and Øystese Taxi comes at short notice and can be reached by phone at: +47 56 55 25 25
Question: Do you serve alcoholic beverages?
Answer: Yes, we have an ambulatory permit. This means that we need to know in advance if you would like alcohol to be served at your event.
Question: How long do you have the premises at our disposal?
Answer: We agree on that in advance, but, generally, until 1 AM.
Question: What it the age restriction for boat rental?
Answer: In order to rent a rowing boat, you need to be over 12 years old. For motorboats up to 15 hp, you need to be at least 16. For the 30 hp boat, you need to also hold a boat driving licence.
Question: Do I need a fishing permit?
Answer: You do not need a fishing permit to fish in the fjord. Fishing permit is only required for fishing in rivers and lakes.
Question: Can I go ashore anywhere?
Answer: In Norway we have laws that ensure public access to common goods. Private ownership, however, does apply on the shoreline. Take that into consideration when in areas with buildings. We recommend as well that you keep a distance of at least 50 meters from fish farms.
Question: Do you rent out canoes and kayaks?
Answer: No, unfortunately. The wind conditions on the Hardanger fjord make it too risky. The Fyksesund fjord is more suitable. Kayaks can be rented out from Fyksesund Braut, telephone number: +47 90 40 53 25
Question: What kind of problems could we encounter?
Answer: Something you should pay attention to, is that the propeller does not get tangled in ropes. Also pay attention to high and low tide when you want to go ashore. If the tide goes down while the boat is docked, the propeller might be touching the floor even if the boat is floating.
Question: Who is responsible in case something goes wrong?
Answer: When renting a boat, we are responsible for the boat and motor being in good condition, and that you receive the necessary information about how to use it. You are in principal responsible for all situations that might arise during the lease period. This also applies to force majeure problems.
Question: Can we light a bonfire?
Answer: Yes, but only on the beach. Remember to put out the fire with plenty of water.
Question: Can we swim in the fjord?
Answer: Of course. We also have a swimming raft out on the water during the summer. Always keep an eye on your children while they swim.
Question: What does the shower cost?
Answer: You use 5- and 10-krone coins for the showers, which gives you hot water for 4 and 8 minutes, respectively.
Question: Is there a washing machine?
Answer: Yes, we have a washing machine and tumble dryer in the sanitary building. The machines take tokens which can be bought at the reception.
Question: Where can I throw away waste water from my caravan?
Answer: At the curve by the sanitary building there is a manhole which you can drive to. The lid can be lifted and you can dispose of your waste water inside.
Question: How do I get electricity for my caravan?
Answer: There are seven electricity poles in the camping area, intended for short-term visitors. Each of these contains a counter. You can connect to it yourself, and the price per night is NOK 50,-. If you are staying for a week or longer, you can choose between paying per night or per kWh.
Question: Is there a waiting list for the permanent places?
Answer: No. The reason is that our caravan guests can sell their caravan along with the rental agreement directly. An overview of the permanent places for sale can be found here.
Question: What is the function of Nesvika Beboerforening (NBF)?
Answer: NBF has been established as a communication body between holders of permanent places and the management of Hardanger Feriesenter. Their main role is to represent the interests of the permanent place holders in relation to construction and conduct issues, participate in the development of regulations and organise social events.
Question: What is the difference between a short-term space and a permanent place?
Answer: A short-term space is a stay that ranges from one week to three months. See price list here. In a short-term space you can set up a temporary platform under your tent. You need to remove it yourself at the end of your stay.
A permanent place is a place where you can install your caravan on a terrace. You can build a roof over your tent to avoid snow damage during winter. Wooden tents are not allowed due to fire safety regulations.
Question: What is the cost of membership in Nesvika Beboerforening?
Answer: The membership fee is NOK 100,- per year.
Question: How can I obtain mooring space in the marina?
Answer: Check first if there are available spaces here. There is a deposit of NOK 17 000,- and an establishing fee of NOK 5000,- which covers anchor, chain, buoy and piling on land.
Question: How large can my boat be?
Answer: Up to 17 foot long.
Question: Can my boat be docked here during the winter?
Answer: Yes. You are yourself responsible for taking your boat out of and back into the water. For a boat with roofing you should have a trailer for the boat to stand on during the winter. Boats without roofing can be stored on our bunks. The price for winter storage is in both cases NOK 600,-
